The forecast is for a dry 2005
April 23rd, 2005
The forecast is for a dry 2005. John has provided recycled waterbutts and tanks for communal use. If you have a shed, it’s not difficult to collect rainwater with a piece of guttering following the fall of the roof. You can wire it in place. If we all use collected water first before turning on the mains water taps we could reduce the site water bills and do our bit for protecting the environment. Mains water is expensive both financially and environmentally.
However please be Health and Safety conscious! We have families with toddlers on site and a class of school children. Water attracts children so use covers or elevation to keep them from harm. Also use the collected water quickly to prevent stagnation and insect breeding.

Thames Water new regulations
April 5th, 2005
At the AGM, Deric advised that Thames Water had new regulations which required all water tanks to be situated at least 2 metres from the standpipe taps. These taps were to be threaded (which they are) and all hoses need to be used with a trigger action device which stops back flow.
A working party to move tanks will convene on Sunday 17th April at 10am. Please help if you can!
